About

The Global Bloggers Network

We are Keith Jenkins and Janice Waugh – two independent travel bloggers. Keith publishes the Velvet Escape and Janice publishes Solo Traveler. Since the spring of 2009, we have been Skyping on a regular basis to share information and run ideas by each other. Our purpose was to  accelerate the success of our blogs and it worked. We have each contributed to the success of the other.

Imagine what would happen if there were more of us.

Keith Jenkins My expertise as a relationship manager and marketer combine with my hands-on understanding of the power of social media to provide social media advisory services to new businesses and existing organisations seeking to extend their reach. There is a world of difference between knowing all the things to do to create success with social media and actually having lived in the trenches of this powerful, ever changing technology.

Janice Waugh I’m what’s known as a serial entrepreneur.  I currently publish Solo Traveler, an online source for those who travel alone. I also have a writing business specializing in online marketing and social media. In the 90s I had a company where I developed and managed global marketing strategies for conferences and edited an international online trade journal.  This business was sold in 2000 at which point I traveled and completed an MA in History.
